COUNSELLING FOR FAMILIES

Family life can be tough, hectic and challenging and sometimes it can help to have someone neutral to talk through difficulties you may be experiencing.

Every family is unique, and different types of families experience different issues, all of which can feel too heavy at times.

I have been working with many different types of families for over 10 years, who experience many different issues, including new parents, step-parents with blended families, and the general complications of family dynamics.

I worked with families with children from all ages from little tots to teens and appreciate the differing needs and challenges this brings.

The aim of Driftwood is to always help families work through things together and improve your relationships with each other, help you to connect, work together and build on your family’s strengths.

We want you to benefit from a safe place with the support of someone who can help you all be heard and think together about the issues and find a positive way through together.

WHAT AREAS CAN I HELP WITH?

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As with individual work following your initial enquiry, I would send you the therapeutic contract, privacy policy and GDPR statement so you all had time to review these before deciding to book in.

We would then book in a shorter reduced price session to allow you come and spend some time together thinking about your families goals, answering any questions you may have and getting to know each other a little to see if you all felt comfortable.

There is no obligation to book any further sessions from here, if you were happy we would then book our first session and complete the paperwork I had already sent you.

From there we would agree each week if you wish to continue with sessions.

Each session would be about what you wanted to bring and discuss as a family, and we would regularly check in together to review our work.

My role is help everyone be heard, held and understood and notice patterns of relating that you as a family may be falling into that might be unhelpful and helping you think about ways you might wish to address them.
